Children's tour "Leni and the Dragon's Cave"
Location: Porto Cristo – Cuevas del Drach
Duration: approx. 4 hours
Recommended age: 6–12 years
Number of participants: ideal for 6–20 children plus accompanying adults
Tour itinerary
1. Arrival & Welcome (15–20 min)
- Meeting point: Cuevas del Drach car park
- Welcome by guide as “Captain” – each child receives a paper logbook or “Explorer Passport”
- Brief introduction: What are stalactites? Who discovered the cave? What is real and what is fantasy?
2. Guided cave tour (approx. 1 hour) (11.50€ entrance fee included)
- Entrance to the stalactite cave (official tour, separate group recommended)
On the way: Playful impulses in whispers:
“Do you see that eye up there?”
“This is where Leni the pirate must have hidden her treasure!”
Explanation: Stalactites, stalagmites, stalactite formation
Highlight: Boat trip on the underground lake
3. Debriefing & Fantasy Game (30 min)

Outside in the shade:
Short break with a picnic or snacks you brought along
Answer questions from the logbook:
“How do stalactites form?”
“Why is it so cold down there?”
“What would you hide in a cave?” -
Creative game (optional):
“Dragon Eye Painting” on black paper with chalk
Secret note like Leni the Pirate
“Whispering the Rock” – Children invent a short cave legend together
4. Final game & farewell (15 min)
- Little Pirate Test:
“What color is a stalactite when you shine a light on it?”
“What do you do if you get lost in a cave?”
Awarding of the “Cave Pirate Diploma”
Group photo (e.g. with a homemade cardboard sextant or treasure map)
What to bring?
- Comfortable shoes, light jacket (the cave is cold!)
- Water bottle, possibly a small snack
- Curiosity, a little courage – and imagination!
