The Sí-Po-1000 is a blueprint for a passive heat storage system for temperature control of pools, natural pools and ponds.
The system uses the earth's temperature, thermal mass and natural airflow to slowly store heat and release it evenly to the water.
The design operates without a heat pump, without pressure systems, and without continuously running technology.
Under suitable conditions – especially with an insulating pool cover – the usage time of a pool can be significantly extended.
Operating principle
The Sí-Po-1000 combines three physical effects:
Earth temperature
An earth air pipe tempers the incoming air to the natural temperature level of the ground.
Thermal mass
The air flows through an underground sand reservoir and absorbs the heat stored there.
Air-to-water heat exchanger
The heat is transferred via stainless steel corrugated pipes into a heat exchanger tank and released into the pool or pond water.
The airflow is created by the natural buoyancy of a chimney.
Characteristics
- passive heat storage system
- No heat pump required
- no permanent power consumption
- pressureless system
- slow and stable temperature development
- modularly expandable
Suitable applications
- Pools
- natural pools
- swimming ponds
- Koi ponds
- smaller aquaculture systems
System size
A Si-Po-1000 is typically designed for:
Pool or pond volume:
approx. 10 – 25 m³
The system can be expanded modularly:
| memory | Pool size |
|---|---|
| 1 × Sí-Po-1000 | 10–25 m³ |
| 2 × Sí-Po-1000 | 25–50 m³ |
| 3 × Sí-Po-1000 | 50–70 m³ |
An insulating pool cover is recommended to reduce heat loss.
Contents of the building plan
The building plan contains:
- Step-by-step building instructions
- technical illustrations
- Construction of the sand storage facility
- Installation of the ground-source heat pump system
- Construction of the heat exchanger tank
- Air duct and chimney
- Materials list
- Tool list
Notice
The Sí-Po-1000 stabilizes temperatures through stored thermal energy.
It does not replace a conventional pool heater with short-term high heating output.
